Winter Road Clearance Plans
As one of many local parishes to raise concerns about West Sussex County Council’s November proposals to reduce their gritting and snow clearance commitment, the parish council was relieved when these proposals were withdrawn in December, but this will likely remain an area of funding

After reducing the speed limit on the B2139 (Jacket’s Hill) earlier this year, West Sussex County Council have agreed to reduce the speed limit on Greenhurst Lane to 40mph in 2020. We don’t have any exact timings for this yet but will provide further updates

Monaghans front-of-site access
The long-promised Monaghans front-of-site access changes, designed to discourage HGVs approaching via the narrow B2139 from the north, is moving forward finally. A contractor has now been appointed to carry out this work, although start date is subject to further detailed Highways permissions.
B2139 Speed Reduction
In case anyone missed the circulated information: the speed limit on the section of the B2139 between Merrywood Lane and the southern end of Thakeham (over Jackets Hill), has now been reduced to 40mph. Another proposal has been made to do the same along Greenhurst
