Everyone is cordially invited to the Annual Parish Meeting this coming Monday 15 May, 7.30pm in Thakeham Village Hall. As well as hearing the Chairman’s Annual Report and enjoying the legendary after-meeting drinks, nibbles and chat, the main event is a short talk by Steve Whyley of the local Community Minibus Association.
The context of Mr Whyley’s talk is the ongoing erosion of our local public transport. We face a number of challenges in this area – in particular our extremely limited bus service (see latest post on the 74/A service) – and the PC feels that the time is right to now begin consulting and discussing the detail of how best to take that forward.
Among the community benefits from the Abingworth development some further funding is identified in relation to community transport initiatives. Mr Whyley’s talk will help us to understand one of the leading options for how we might use this funding.
We look forward to seeing many of you on Monday evening!
