Help us fix the missing cycle link to Storrington!

Further to previous updates on this issue, the planning process is offering an opportunity to secure the ‘missing link’ that we need to deliver a direct and safe all-weather walking and cycling route for the residents of Thakeham (and West Chiltington) to access central Storrington. Horsham District Council planners are currently considering application DC/21/0749 relating the housing development at ‘Land North of Downsview Avenue’ which already has outline consent. Thakeham PC and West Sussex Public Rights of Way team have made strong submissions asking the planners to agree that existing footpath 2448 through this site should be upgraded to cycleable bridleway standard. This would provide an ideal link between the south end of Northlands Lane and residential roads to central Storrington. See the map below.

We have already upgraded the existing bridleways shown in blue: the ‘missing link’ between the south end of Northlands Lane and Downsview Avenue is all we need to make this connection an all-weather reality for local residents.

If you support our aims, please visit the HDC planning portal via this link DC/21/0749, by Friday 25 June, and register a comment in support of our proposal.  Thanks in advance!
