HDC Thakeham area health walks

All are welcome to join guided, free, sociable, HDC walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn up at the start point. Programme booklet containing over 250 walks is available – contact the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306  or look online at www.horshamhealthwalks.co.uk.   Beginners are recommended to contact Walk Leaders to discuss suitability. Sun 19 August 10:00am: Highden Hill and Windlesham A 4½ mile circular walk, some hills, into the heart of the Downs pas sing Highden Beeches and Windlesham School to the South Downs Way near Washington and up Barnsfarm Hill giving spectacular views. Sat 25 August 2:00pm: Sullington Warren and Church, A 4 mile circular walk (two stiles) through the National Trust’s Sullington Warren with its heathland, pine woodland and ancient burial grounds then on to Sullington Manor Farm and the ancient country church. Sat 1 September 10:00am: Hareswith, A 3.9 mile circular walk, some stiles, through the unspoilt fields of Fryern Park to Perrett’s Farm with its stunning views of the South Downs and West Chiltington, on to Hareswith and East Wantley then back along the ancient track of Love Lane. Sat 15 September 2:00pm: NEW WALK Riverside Walk (2) Meet in Storrington Recreation Ground C.P Car Park, Storrington, RH20 4BG. Explore Storrington’s lovely Riverside Walk. This 3½ mile circular route, taking 1½ hours, follows Storrington’s Riverside Walk before taking is Sullington Warren and returning through Fryern Dell Dogs welcome, some stiles no hills. Wed 19 September 10:30am: Storrington Riverside Walk A 2½ mile walk taking 1½ hours. Meet at Storrington Recreation Ground Car Park, RH20 4PG. This flat, well surfaced walk is ideal for people who want an easy walk with pleasant views. Suitable for children’s buggies. Dogs welcome, no stiles or hills. Refreshments provided.
