HDC Thakeham area health walks

All are welcome to join guided, free, sociable, HDC walks led by trained volunteers; no need to book, just turn up at the start point. Programme booklet containing over 250 walks is available – contact the Walks Co-ordinator on 07720 714306  or look online at www.horshamhealthwalks.co.uk.   Beginners are recommended to contact Walk Leaders to discuss suitability. Wed 18 April 10:30am: Storrington Riverside Walk A 2½ mile walk taking 1½ hours. Meet at Storrington Recreation Ground Car Park, RH20 4PG. This flat, well surfaced walk is ideal for people who want an easy walk with pleasant views. Suitable for children’s buggies. Dogs welcome, no stiles or hills. Refreshments provided. Sat 21 April 2:00pm: Thakeham. A 3 mile circular walk, few stiles, around this lovely village and across farmland towards Goose Green. Meet at Thakeham Church car park (RH20 3EP) (TQ110173). Dogs welcome. Refreshments provided. 1½ hours. Contact: Mick Denness 01903 745971

Mon 30 April 10:30am: Stunning Sussex Bluebell Walk Park and meet at St George’s Parish Church, Steyning Road (RH13 8LR TQ171208), Going South from Horsham along A24 after Buck Barn traffic lights turn left along B2135 signposted Partridge Green then first right at wooden bungalow. A 3½ mile, mostly flat, easy circular walk through the National Trust’s Sullington Warren, (heathland containing Bronze Age burial mounds) then on to Sandgate Park. Sat 26 May 2:00pm: Fryern Park. Meet in Storrington Recreation Ground car park, RH20 4PG. This lovely 3 mile walk, taking 1¼ hours, offers uninterrupted views towards the South Downs as route goes through Fryern Park with its landscaped pleasure gardens and waterfall. Includes stiles.
