Abingworth Homes Ltd have submitted a planning application to Horsham District Council (Reference: DC/19/1707) to revise the layout and housing numbers in Phase 3 of the Abingworth Meadows development.
Thakeham Parish Council will discuss this proposal at the scheduled meeting of the Neighbourhood Planning Committee on Monday 23rd September (6.30pm, Thakeham Village Hall). Residents are welcome to attend and give input to that meeting, but are also encouraged to submit comments direct to Horsham District Council – for which the deadline is Wednesday 18th September. The Parish Council’s consideration of this application is, as usual, required to focus on ‘material planning considerations’, and those wishing to submit comments (to either the Parish Council meeting, or to HDC) are strongly advised to read this guidance on those ‘material considerations’, to help frame their comments.
Full details and documents relating to this application, and the form to submit online comments, are available on the Horsham District Council Planning Portal – GO TO THE PORTAL.
As required by planning guidance, the Parish Council’s meeting of 23 September will be considering these proposals open-mindedly, and with no pre-determined view, while being particularly mindful of relevant policies within the Thakeham Neighbourhood Plan, especially Policy 4 (Abingworth Nursery). Please note that written comments are best lodged via the HDC portal and not sent directly to the Parish Council. The 23 September meeting will receive a summary of points made in submissions via the HDC portal, but it is not sensible for the PC to offer a parallel system for lodging written comments, with the risks that creates of comments being duplicated/double-counted, or lost.Phase 3 Proposed Layout
