Thakeham residents will wish to note that, without waiting for the outcome of the appeal they have lodged against the refusal of their November 2015 application for 107 houses at Snapes Corner (DC/15/2374; Storrington Road), Gladman Developments have also now submitted a revised planning application for 60 houses on the same site. To find further details, follow the link below to the HDC planning portal, through which you may also submit comments on this proposal.
DC/16/1489 Outline planning permission for up to 60 dwellings (including up to 35% affordable housing), informal public open space and children’s play area, surface water attenuation, landscaping, vehicular access point from Storrington Road and associated ancillary works. All matters to be reserved with the exception of the main site access. – Land at Storrington Road Storrington Road Thakeham West Sussex RH20 3GP
The Parish Council’s Neighbourhood Planning Committee will be considering its response to this latest proposal at its next meeting of 25 June. In doing so the parish will consider whether the new application remains subject to the various criticisms contained in its previous strong objection, as updated and submitted to the appeal process for DC/15/2374, which can be read here: DC-15-2374 Thakeham Parish response updated June 16
The appeal is being heard by an Inspector via an Inquiry but the time-line for the inquiry is not yet known.
